# TabX

> TabX is a free mobile app that lets bar-goers open and close a bar tab from
> their phone, so they never hand a credit card to a bartender or wait in line
> to close out at the end of the night.

TabX, LLC is based in Birmingham, Alabama. The app is available for iOS and
Android and is live in bars across 14 US cities.

## What TabX does

- A customer opens a tab in the TabX app before ordering at a participating bar.
- They order from the bartender in person, exactly as they normally would.
  Customers cannot order drinks through TabX, and that is deliberate: the
  bartender stays in control of what is poured and for whom.
- When they are ready to leave, they close the tab from their phone. TabX can
  also close the tab automatically.
- Participating brands (spirits, beer, and others) can promote a product in real
  time and only pay when someone orders it. TabX passes along one special per
  person, per day, per location, not per drink.
